A MANDELLA was originally a sheild made from rawhide. It would have had a simple protective symbol on it. Usually hung on a horse going into battle or in the home as a medicine symbol or symbol of protection. You may have seen them in galleries or museums depicting "End of the Trail" or "Horse and Warrior in Battle" . I have just put a contemporary spin on it using my artwork in the center, because everything we do has meaning.
